Verity Price is a singer/songwriter & speaker with a difference. Born in Zimbabwe & raised in SA, she wrote her first song while studying psychology. Only after a 800km solo walk across Spain in memory of her father did she finally commit to music full time. She realized that if she could walk across a country then there wasn't much she couldn't do. Since taking the step to follow her dream, she has won The Catch A Rising Star competition in Florida; been awarded a US working visa as an artist of outstanding ability; performed to capacity audiences in Nashville & New York; established herself as a nationally known South African artist; become an ambassador for women empowerment & education; been featured on Carte Blanche, Journey to the Core & Morning Live (amongst others) for innovation in the music industry , as well as become an inspirational speaker touring the country speaking to students, women's groups & entrepreneurs.

What would your talk at TEDxJohannesburg focus on?: 

Out of the Box and into the Web
My talk focuses on the fact that extraordinary questions lead to extraordinary solutions & how, by asking new questions, I have innovated in the music industry & developed an alternative album funding model that has allowed me to use social media to create my success as a recording artist. This four year journey has taught me about the power of a crazy idea to change the way things are done. The presentation talks about my journey of discovery and the unexpected miracles I have encountered along the way.
