A former senior newspaper reporter covering everything from crime to politics before becoming a tech journalist 10 years ago, Toby Shapshak is editor of Stuff magazine. He has been the Mail & Guardian's technology and sports editor, ran the M&G website when it was the first news site in Africa, and covered the Truth Commission. He was the Telkom ICT Journalist of the Year for 2002. Toby is also a columnist for The Times and Business Day’s Wanted. He was named in GQ's top 30 men in media and the M&G's 300 influential young South Africans list in 2009.

Was a speaker at Dion Chang's Flux Trends conference in 2008. Will be speaking at SXSW 2010 in March in Austin. Was in the debating team at Highlands North high school, circa 1996. We were big on debating at Highlands.
