What happened next
Sister Annah moved from her role as a Chief Professional Nurse in Tembisa to a new role in the Population Council as Program Officer for Post Exposure Prophylaxis. The Union of Jewish Women collected 1500 panties to be placed in 'comfort packs' (which used to contain paper panties) and gave them to the Gauteng Department of Health to be distributed to crisis centres around Gauteng. The association will collect again when more 'comfort packs' are needed. Sister Annah is now going around the country to link more crisis centers to the UJW and anyone else who would like to support rape survivors with the basic necessities when they go to a crisis centre.

The official 2010 stamps and the booklet 'Taxi Hand Signs' were launched early this year, to international acclaim (literally). Inside the book, (which you can now see at major Exclusive Book stores) is an unfolding map that, for the first time, shows Gauteng taxi routes - and in the style of the London Underground map, too. Inspired by the huge amount of information she collected and her beautifully rendered artwork, many artists have started using taxi hand signs in their artwork.

Karen Michelle Brooks worked with MXit (the global social networking and instant messaging giant), to launch Africa’s first IM book in a bid to encourage literacy and a love of reading amongst youth. The newness? INTERACTIVE storytelling. MXit users are able to download the first three chapters of the next book in the 'Scroll of Seven' fantasy series authored by Brooks, entitled 'Emily and the Depths of Darkness', and write the 4th Chapter themselves. The first two books in the series are available online at MXIT and at selected bookstores.
